![]() Yes, fires in medieval towns would be devastating. (This with changing everyone to laborer and ~2/3rds of the citzens in town at the start of the fire.) a Fire would wipe out the "2/3rd's" section of the town. Despite having all the water around and a total of 15 wells built in the city itself, no matter what. ![]() (Had 3 of them, only 5 total deaths.) The issue was Fire. (1/3rd on one side, 2/3rds on the other)ĭiseases?. (In short, don't build a Trading Post until 300 population and don't build any farms, orchards, or pastures until you get a population of 400.) Easy, breezy in a town built between two major lakes with a brook that split the town. Furthermore, I decided to aim for the "One with Nature" and "Isolationist" achievements. My first town, based on Medium difficulty, ran so easily I started my second one on hard. If it's also during a drought and particular dry year, and your town is all wood and close together.Hello Chicago Fire #2. well, Now your gonna have issues if you don't pay close attention. However if it's dead of Summer and you have all wooden buildings close together. (and even then it won't unless its a particular large fire right off the get go). Ontop of that, the Season should matter as well, middle of winter if a fire breaks out it starts off weak, not medium strength, and has almost no chance to spread unless left totally unnattended. However, more towns folk have arrived, and are now dousing the flames faster, and it comes under control with 1 building destroyed and 1 "damaged". However before they can douse it, it spreads, so now the fire strength has gone up a notch, and is now burning stronger. Lets say a nice # like 10 for a medium building. At that stage depending on the size of the building, depends on how many trips it takes with villagers to put out. What I think he should do is add a "Fire Strength" Algorithm, when the fire first starts it starts at medium strength, able to spread, but not out of control. That doesn't mean it can't still be devestating. Realistically if your town was on fire, everyone capable would be doing a mad dash to stop it in anyway they could. I noticed what the AI decides to do when doesn't always match up. I think the Algorithm for Fires just needs to be tweaked.
